Modern Day Lynchings in Mississippi Map: Pre-Written Postcard

$10.00

Express your concern and civil outrage for the pattern of modern lynchings that have occurred in Mississippi from 2000 to 2025 — including the recent tragedy of Demartravion “Trey” Reed’s life on September 15, 2025 at Delta State University — with a personalized postcard to US Senators.

On this double-sided postcard, the front displays “Modern Day Lynchings in Mississippi Map”, an illustrated map of Mississippi that identifies ten Black male citizens that were lynched in that last 25 years — 90% of those hate crime victims’ cases were decided as “inconclusive deaths” or “suicides” in Mississippi state courts. On the back of the postcard, sign off on a personalized letter requesting that Senators advocate for motions to re-open and reconsider all closed lynching cases in light of the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Law. All letters sent to senators are tallied, reviewed and categorized based on issue.

50% of sales will be donated to Julian, a non-profit law firm that fights against lynching in the United States.

“Dear Honorable [Senator Name], When you voted to pass the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Bill into law in 2022, you helped to make the country a safe space for all of its citizens - thank you so much for your service. I am deeply concerned at the pattern of your state’s courts rulings on 80% of the lynching cases identified on the front of this postcard. Their families, and myself, do not believe that they killed themselves in any instance, and do believe that each of them are victims of hate crimes. Only one victim illustrated on the front of this postcard was granted a federal investigation; his name was Craig Anderson. Craig’s family and communities are now at rest knowing that the criminals that lynched him are no longer free on the streets of Mississippi and cannot harm others. I ask that you grant the following families that same peace by requesting motions for their cases to be re-opened and re-considered as federal investigations:

  1. Raynard Johnson. Lynched at the age of 17 on 6/16/2000

  2. Nick Naylor. Lynched at the age of 23 on 1/9/2003

  3. Roy Veal. Lynched at the age of 55 on 4/22/2009

  4. Frederick Jermaine Carter. Lynched at the age of 26 on 12/3/2010

  5. Otis Byrd. Lynched at the age of 54 on 3/19/2025

  6. Phillip Carroll. Lynched at the age of 22 on 5/28/2017

  7. Deondray Montreal Hopkins. Lynched at the age of 35 on 5/5/2019

  8. Willie Andrew Jones Jr. Lynched in Scott County, Mississippi in 2018.

  9. Demartravion “Trey” Reed. Lynched at the age of 21 on 9/15/2025.

Signed,
